On November 14th, the School of International Education at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (ZUFE) hosted a global lecture in partnership with the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The event, broadcast worldwide, explored the future of international education and featured a keynote address from Professor Bjorn H. Nordtveit. This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to progressive educational development and academic partnership.

The lecture, titled “From Modernization to Global Justice: Evolving Paradigms in International Education,” was convened in accordance with educational philosophies that prioritize moral growth and contemporary relevance, mirroring the ethos of ZUFE's motto, "pursuing virtue, cultivating morality and keeping pace with the times."Professor Nordtveit, the CIE's Interim Director, detailed the field's critical shift from a top-down "modernization" model to a collaborative "Global Justice" framework. He discussed that this new paradigm, which prioritizes ethical partnerships and addressing systemic inequalities, is essential for the future of the field.

The discussion provided students with a new lens through which to view their future roles, emphasizing that modern educational practice must be both ethically grounded and adaptable to global challenges. By framing the lecture around these evolving principles, the event itself embodied the drive to cultivate morality and keep pace with the times in global education.

In this same spirit, Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics continues to demonstrate its deep commitment to building and cultivating a solid platform for its students' futures. Through innovative curriculum design, strategic international partnerships, and a focus on holistic character development, ZUFE is dedicated to equipping students with the ethical foundation, global perspective, and practical skills necessary to become leaders and architects of a more just and equitable world.
